Social economy in the fight against Covid19
Organisations and social enterprises are facing unusual challenges due to Coronavirus outbreak. There is an overwhelming feeling of having a little of no control on what is happening around and will have a long term effects. We tend to immediately think about the negative side, but the challenging times bring out a lot of creativity and innovation and prompt organisations to take initiatives that would have rarely taken off the ground.
Social Enterprises around Europe are finding various ways to respond mobilising their communities and scaling up to assist vulnerable people. There is more than ever a need to share our work and good practices that are happening elsewhere.
The European Commission’s Social Economy Community created specially dedicated website to find various initiatives created by Social Economy Organisations to fight coronavirus. You can also contribute by sharing your own actions such as technology solutions, services for elderly, volunteering requests, food delivery services, on-line courses…
We would like to encourage our MEDICI Community and others to share good practices on how providing services to prevent digital exclusion of those most vulnerable.
